Me!

I'm a 20 year old student originally from Crewe, now studying at the University of Birmingham. I am Studying Bioinformatics and am in the 2nd year of a 4 year Bsc. (The third year being a year's professional placement, which I will be spending at Pfizer.)
I play the BBb Bass (Tuba, to those of you who are not musically inclined!), and I have played in the University Brass Band since its founding in 2006.
I enjoy playing CounterStrike:Source, Half Life 2: Death Match, and other similar games. I also enjoy playing the MAgic:The Gathering trading card game, and the frankly insane Munchkin card game.

My Computer

My computer is my pride and joy. Its specs are:
Processor: Intel Core 2 duo E6600 2.4Ghz (overclocked to 2.89Ghz [Need to choose between less ram or a faster overclock :/])
Ram: 3GB (2*512MB, 2*1GB) Corsair XMS 2 DDR (5-5-5-12) Ram
Harddrive: 1*250GB Seagate, 1*500GB Samsung (+1*120GB Maxtor external disk)
Graphics: nVidea 7900GS (To be upgraded as soon as new monies comes in!)
PSU: Hiper Type-R 530 Watt modular PSU
Cooling: Arctic Freezer 7 Pro
OS: Dual Boot Ubuntu 8.04 Beta/Windows XP

I'm currently trying to find the inspiration and the time to do a custom case mod for this rig. When I get round to it, I'll post the results here.

Please note: This site is mainly my attempt at writing clean, xhtml compliant language. If you are using a standards-incompliant browser (such as Internet Explorer), parts of this site may not render properly. Writing IE hacks is on my todo list, but it is a low priority on the already low priority of updating this site.
If you have the ability, you really should be using a browser which at least attempts compliancy - Firefox and Opera are the two obvious ones. (Although neither of them pass the acid3 test.) I personally favour Firefox, because it is FOSS (Free, Open Source Software).
